Kaya is a week away from her second birthday! She is such a big girl and such a little girl both right now. She is fully potty trained and is constantly bringing her babies to the bathroom to go too.

Times like that, and any time she opens her mouth (you should hear the vocab on her, and syntax too... it's amazing), you'd think that she was nearing 3.
...then there are the really cold Saturday mornings when we all want to go for a walk, and Kaya doesn't want to go in the stroller, because she knows that she'll be cold and she says "Please Mei Tai", how can we say no?

Last night she slept in our bed with us for the first time since she was 2 months old. She's not a great snuggler, so when we've tried to bring her in in the past she's needed to go back to her crib to actually fall sleep. Last night the dry air was getting to her, and she'd been coughing for a while. Finally it was too much for her and she started wailing. I went in with a cup of water, which she gladly accepted, and tried to lay her back down with her blanket and her bunny; she wanted nothing to do with it. I brought her back to our bed and within minutes she was back to sleep and I couldn't take my eyes off of that little snuggly babe. (We all slept until 7:30 this morning.)
This toddler time is so confusing... is she big, is she little? Yes!
Two concerned voters:

It's Halloween! Yeah, what fun! I got to spend the morning at the park with my favorite bunny and fish taking pictures. That was my "treat" for today, and posting them here is our "treat" to you!

Get ready for a Halloween photo shoot in costume... but for now, here is Kaya getting a little festive a few days early!

We went out to buy Kaya some big girl underwear today. She was very excited on the way there, and in the store. I thought she was excited about being a big girl, but she had other plans for these underwear!

I don't know, I think she may be ready for college! She's got the wardrobe right!
Kaya is a sweater.* It's usually cooler in her room than almost anywhere else in the house, but usually she wakes from naps all sweaty.
I managed to snap this picture of her bed head after a nap the other day. (Notice the sheet marks on her face too... it was a good nap!)

*Just before I posted this, I proofread and noticed that the first sentence is a bit funny to come from a knitter's mouth (hands in this case). She is not made of wool, she just produces a lot of sweat!
Oh the silly things we make our babies do! Kaya is all about the exagerated faces these days. When she was eating a snack earlier this week I asked her to show me her sad face, and then her happy face. After that, it was back to the corn! Being a baby is a tough job!

She has a very silly smile these days too as seen here:

And sometimes she just doesn't know what to do with those eyes of hers when she's smiling and it looks like this (believe me, this is the best video of the three!):

Kaya is very into pretend play these days, and a lot of her pretend play revolves around her kitchen.
One afternoon last week she went around feeding everyone the pasta she'd made!

Kaya's hair is finally growing, and it's starting to grow fast! She has enough hair for a ponytail now... kind of!

Don't worry, we won't let her leave the house like that!
Yesterday was a rainy day, so other than going to playgroup in the morning, we spent a lot of time inside. Kaya has been getting into make-believe play lately and she was playing so nicely with her baby (my old baby!).
