Travelin' Girl

We just returned from a trip to Colorado for a wonderful friend's wedding! We got out there a few days early so we could enjoy Colorado and do some hiking. We ended up only doing one large hike, but it was a good one.

Kaya spent most of the hike like this asleep on Mike's back.

...but she did get to enjoy some of the beautiful Colorado scenery.

This was also Kaya's first plane trip. She was a trooper. We had two legs to each trip. That's a lot of takeoffs and landings, but she held it together and made it through in one piece (and without bothering the other passengers too much!).

I took this picture in the airport while we were waiting for our plane to board. That is our plane behind Kaya and she got a little plush one to take home!

We lucked out by having an empty seat next to us for one leg and Kaya got to sit by herself for a bit. She didn't spend too much time there, but it was nice to have my lap to myself for the time that she did sit and play.

All in all it was a great trip, and we are all happy to be home now with regular naps and a predictable schedule. I'm sure I'll come up with more CO pics to share as I process them. Be on the lookout!

What kind of a back carrier is that? Does Kaya like it? I like the shoulder pads, that's what I need! I have an Ellaroo Meitai, I'm not too good at using it though, I need more practice!

The carrier is a custom made Mai Tai made by my mom! It's the second one she's made for us, this one has all sorts of improvements to make it more comfortable for everyone!

The shoulder pads are actually borrowed from Kaya's carseat! Any more Mai Tais my mom makes will have padded shoulder straps.

She takes custom orders... email me or leave me a comment with your address if you want more info or pictures of Kaya on the front facing in or out.

Look how excited Kaya is to take that plane ride! So cute! I love how she just hangs on the back like a little turtle in a shell! Thanks for the blog.
