Dressing Up

Kaya has had a number of birthday parties to go to this month, and one a few weeks ago was a dress-up birthday party. Come with your own dress-up clothes, or borrow some at the party.

Kaya got a box of crocheted clothes from Mike's dad's wife, Marion, in February, and they were perfect for this party! The crown Kaya is wearing was part of the birthday girl's gift, but Kaya had to model it with her outfit.

We walked all the way to the party (~1mile), but got there early (Kaya is a fast walker on those little legs of hers). That meant that we got to play at the playground a bit.

The first swings of the season were extremely enjoyable!

Kaya seems to have gotten a bit bolder over the winter and went right for the climbing structure. Even in her tights and dress-up clothes, she maneuvers well!

New England Weather

We had two extremes last weekend with the weather around here. (Yes, I know, that's the definition of New England weather, and it's so true.)

Saturday we got into the car to go out to Mt. Misery (horrible name, great place to go with dogs!) to meet some friends to go hiking. Kaya and Naomi buddied up in the back seat together. They are definitely good friends these days.

Although Kaya can walk for great distances, she'd still rather be worn... especially if it's her daddy that will be doing the wearing! We had a really nice (sometimes icy, but mostly thawing) walk with Naomi, her friend Porter, and Porter's owners Brad and Jen.

The next morning... snow, and lots of it! Seriously, this picture was taken not 24 hours after the one above! It's not spring yet!

Kaya and Mike did lots of shoveling together, it's impressive how much snow Kaya can move with her little sand shovel. Next year we'll put her to work for real!
