Two are in... two are very close behind... Kaya is cranky!
Last time I saw them, Aunt Hilda and Aunt Frida asked for videos. There is no sound because this was taken with our camera, but here is video of Kaya "crawling"! She's been able to for a while, but FINALLY now is starting to go places without whining and crying the whole way.
Enjoy!

Remember when Kaya used to not nap like this:

Well, now she doesn't nap like this:

Yup, Kaya's on a napping strike which means that it's very hard to get things done around here including stocking up our shoe store Kaya's Kloset! I usually count on her morning nap to make some shoes, but now I just cram it all into after she goes to bed for the night.
Kaya has started to crawl now, so maybe she'll be burning off more energy and go back to her two solid naps... or maybe this is the end of the two nap phase and we are entering into one. I guess we'll see. What is it that the wise moms say? "It's all a phase, the good and the bad."
Lunch today was all finger foods, and Kaya ate out of a bowl for the first time, (and didn't throw it onto the floor or try to eat it, only what was inside)! Yummy pasta with melted cheese and broccoli!

Buddy's lunch is still a bit messier than Kaya's is. You'd think that he could put those two teeth to use!

Ahhh, finger food is so much easier than this was in May:

Can you believe Kaya is nine months old already? Okay, so she's nine months and one week old, but these pics were taken on her nine month birthday!

As you can see, Kaya is standing on her own now. She's finally started to crawl a bit, but still is very slow and sloppy about it. She ends up where she wants to be though, so it's definitely progress.
Her very first tooth broke through yesterday! It's not much to look at now, but once it comes out a bit more I'll take a good pic of it. She didn't seem phased by it at all and went on being her normal self.
Kaya is eating really well now. She had kale, eggplant, zucchini, and her normal grains and beans for dinner last night. Most meals she eats more than Mike and I do! Despite this, she's a mere sixteen pounds and only 7th percentile for weight! Thankfully her height and head circumference keep growing nicely, and she's definitely active and alert.
More updates to come soon!
Better late than never!
