How do your babies eat? Mine eat only square things:

...and they like to eat together!

I usually feed them separately, but Kaya wasn't going to go for that today! She demanded to eat with Buddy, and who am I to deny a baby food?
Acorn squash is next. It's all cooked up and waiting to be mushed and cubed. Yum! (I'm sure I'm not the only one that finishes their baby's food... and whatever doesn't fit into the ice cube tray!) Speaking of ice cube trays, we use this one. The flexible silicone won't leach anything toxic into the food and makes is so easy to pop out the food cubes.
Kaya has entered the world of solid foods! Last week she had her first taste of avocado, and she ate it like a pro. It's so funny how babies know just what to do. It's like she's been eating forever.

Hmmmm, this does not taste like milk, but I like to put things in my mouth, so I'll go with it.

Woah, I'm messy, my belly is full, that was so cool!

The babies love swinging!

Naomi... not so much.

Kaya has been working on sitting by herself, and as a reward for the good effort she's put forward so far, I took her swinging at the park! Look at this big girl on a swing all by herself:

Mike had to get in on the action too! He even told her all about pumping her legs.

Yeah for swinging, yeah for Spring!

Kaya turned 5 months old yesterday! She continues to grow more entertaining and lovely. Kaya has finally started to reach for toys, rather than just grabbing ones put in her hands. She's content to play for a while, but she'd rather do it with me or Mike by her side!
The weather is getting nicer and we are out all of the time. Tuesdays, when we don't watch Buddy, she and I tend to be out all day long. She is a real take-along baby, grabbing naps when she needs them, eating wherever I'll let her, and smiling at everyone on the street.
Of course you need new 5 month pictures! As I said, it's getting nicer out here and the sun is getting bright... so bright, she's gotta wear shades.

Kaya is starting to thin out and lengthen a bit (though you wouldn't know by her chubby thighs). We are starting to be able to see a bit of an angular chin. Can you see it under all of that cheeky goodness?

...and one more with a smile!

It's so beautiful out that I can't stand to stay inside. We are trying to get back into my pregnancy routine of walking Naomi around the local reservoir every morning. This is how Buddy and Kaya looked at the beginning of our walk:

...and an hour later:

Nothing better than a good walk and fresh air to kickstart a nap!
