Belly Bling

Yesterday I went out with a few things on the agenda:

One of the most frequent questions I've gotten through this blog, and in person, is "What's going on with your belly ring? Will you be able to keep it throughout the pregnancy?" I'm not sure if I can, but I'm sure going to try!

My belly has spent a lot of time at the beach this summer in a bikini, so if it's getting shown off so much, it should look good, right? Yesterday the purpose of the bead store trip was to find a little charm to hang off of the ring to tell the world that there is a little itty bitty GIRL in there! Unfortunately they didn't have a "girl" charm, but I think that what I came up with is almost as good.

...and a close up

The Envelope Please

We had an absolutely perfect ultrasound appointment this morning. The doctor was in a great mood, Tadpole was coopertive, and everything looked perfect.

We saw arms and legs, the most perfect little feet, two hands being held almost together, a heart pumping blood through four perfect chambers, liver, kidneys, bladder, it was just incredible!

A little person profile with a floating hand!
Look at that nose! Ooooooh!

Finally the doctor asked the big question... do you want to know the sex? We told him that if the baby wanted to tell us, we wanted to know, and SHE did! Definitely one little GIRL in there! Just perfect and lovely and doing great!

Oh, the world of knitting patterns this opens up for me!

In case anyone was counting: Lisa B, Melanie, and Alison were all saying that it was a girl (or in Melanie's case offering clothes if it was a girl). Dani and my best friend Miranda were all out boy, and the rest of you just wished for a happy baby no matter the sex... wimps!

So, here we are, half way through, no huge surprises left... well except for labor, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Actual Belly! Week 18

Here it is, for your viewing pleasure! We at at 18.5 weeks or so (the counter is our estimate, we are officially going with the doctor's).

Notice our new porch? We love it! We just planted the flower boxes this weekend, and now it's definitely home.

Just for continuity:

We are getting there. More exciting news in two days!

Actual Maternity Clothes

Today I am wearing my first article of actual maternity clothes! I bought a pair of maternity shorts when I first found out I was pregnant and they seemed huge! They are still a bit big on me, but I can definitely wear them now!

The internet people were supposed to fix our connection at home today, so if they did you can expect a new belly shot today or tomorrow morning... this is all starting to seem real now!

Wait a Bit Longer

You all will have to be a bit more patient in waiting to find out what this little one is.  We had to reschedule the ultrasound appointment for July 20th!  I know that a lot of you guys are on pins and needles out there waiting to find out who was right and who was wrong, and pink or blue, but I'm happy to wait.  I'm still not mentally ready to know what this little tadpole is.  My bizarro mind just doesn't feel like it's time yet, (Mike on the other hand has been ready to know since we've known that there was a baby!).  Hopefully I'll be ready by the 20th though!

In other news, we are all moved in to our new home!  It's huge, it's beautiful, you should come over.  Really, come on over!  Naomi is settling in like she's lived there forever.  We've even started baby-proofing by putting up a gate leading into the kitchen!  Once we are a bit more settled Naomi will spend her days on the kitchen, pantry, sunroom side of the gate and be separated from whatever little people are on the other side!  We are not at all worried about Naomi with our baby, but would like to keep her a bit separated from other people's precious cargo!

Talk to you again soon.
